Principal's Message

Dr. Nicole Robinson

Dear S.T.E.M. Academy Community,

As we close out the school year, we want to thank our students for making the best of this difficult time. We appreciate them working with their teachers and completing their work. We want to thank our teachers for their successful transition to remote learning and for their meaningful feedback to our students regarding their work and for their positive interactions with their students. We want to thank all the individuals who supported students through conducting annual case conferences, speech and other therapies and counseling. Finally, we want to thank everyone for their patience as we tried our best to keep education going during this spring. Final report cards will be mailed home over the summer. We know families have questions regarding lockers and information will be communicated via phone blast about how to retrieve your child’s personal items from lockers in the next few weeks. In addition, we will keep our families updated as we know more about our current state of affairs and how it impacts schools in the fall. 

Summer can be the best time of the year to spend quality time with family and friends and forget about school for a while. However, I hope that your child continues to do some daily reading to keep their most important organ exercised…the brain. We are proud to continue our new Balanced Literacy Summer Reading Program. Watch the mail and be on the lookout for the Scholastic Summer Reading Book packet.

So, what can we do as we head into the traditional summer break?  Maya Angelou once said, “As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.”  These difficult times have brought out the best in many of us, and we need to continue to pick each other up in any way we are able to do so. Thanks again for your efforts to make the best of the 4th quarter this school year. We hope the warm weather brings with it a chance to better enjoy ourselves as we look forward to better days ahead.
