Associate Superintendent's Message

Dr. Twyla Harris

Fall 2021

Dear Parents and Guardians

Welcome Back to the 2021-2022 school year.  Our theme this year is “Moving Students Forward”.  As a collective unit, comprised of students, parents, grandparents, teaching staff, administrators and school board members, we are challenged with one clear goal which is to meet the needs of our students academically and emotionally.  We have all been challenged through this current pandemic.  The district will do everything within its power to ensure that the students are safe and that they will be strengthened academically and emotionally.

We will do extensive training this school year in Restorative Justice Practices, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) as well as Trauma Informed Care for students.  Trauma Informed Care deals with the adverse impact of trauma and focuses in on restoring emotional health.

I serve at the Associate Superintendent of the District.  I am here to assist you and address any concerns that you may have regarding the district.  We are continuing to staff the district with licensed teachers as well as support staff.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.   I can be reached at (708) 868-8300.

We Believe in Excellence, Humanization and Pride!

Educationally yours,

Dr. Twyla Y. Harris

Associate Superintendent

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is beauty, admire it. Life is a dream, realize it. Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is a duty, complete it. Life is a game, play it. Life is a promise, fulfill it. Life is sorrow, overcome it. Life is a song, sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy, confront it. Life is an adventure, dare it. Life is luck, make it. Life is too precious, do not destroy it. Life is life, fight for it.
