Principal's Message

Mrs. ZaRita Beal

We Believe…Excellence, Humanization, & Pride

Greetings Parents, Families and Friends,

Welcome Back, We Missed You!!!

On behalf of our entire staff, we would like to welcome our incoming seventh grade students and our returning eighth grade students!  We understand that right now is an uncertain time in education for everyone, but rest assure that much planning, construction and hard work has gone into preparing for a successful school year.

Let me begin by introducing myself! My name is Mrs. ZaRita Beal and I will be your child’s principal.  We are glad that you are joining us, as we embark on an exciting year of teaching and learning at CCA. After the last year of functioning in a virtual setting, we are excited to return to full days of in-person instruction in the building. Due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to implement mitigation measures as established by the CDC. This will include the requirement for all students to wear masks while indoors and on the buses, social distancing of at least 3-6 feet between students where practicable, and regular handwashing and/or access to hand sanitizers. All visitors to our school will also be required to wear masks.

Dolton School District 149 is committed to providing a safe, collaborative and dynamic learning community that empowers and challenges our students to become 21st Century lifelong learners. In order to accomplish this goal, we strongly believe in this year’s district theme: “Moving Students Forward” and school’s theme: “Bring Your “A” Game: Academics, Acceptance, Ambition, Attendance, and Attitude”.

As we enter the 2021 – 2022 school year, we will be able to grow together as we focus on collaborative learning through the school-wide implementation of our balanced literacy program along with our new math initiative collaborating with Math PDP. This year we will renew our commitment to excellence in all that we do, as we seek to provide engaging instruction daily with the expectation that all students can learn and succeed. We will continue to provide students with opportunities to address academic deficiencies and to build numeracy and literacy skills.

We are also pleased to inform you that Dolton School District 149 will continue the implementation of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), an option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs, for 2021-2022 school year. Schools that participate in CEP are able to provide healthy breakfasts and lunches each day at no charge for all students enrolled in that CEP school.

The year will be busy, exciting, and hopefully very rewarding for each student.   We want you to join us in making this the very best experience for your children.  Being informed will help with this experience. Throughout the year our school website, periodic calendars, and newsletters, etc. will attempt to provide you with the most current information.  Please make sure that all contact information is up-to-date, you are frequently checking your child’s grades in Skyward, and return any emails or phone calls from the school. However, many times you will have questions as we go along, and we look forward to working with our school community to keep everyone informed and safe.

Enclosed you will find the transportation form, an information verification form, school supply list and your student’s schedule. Please complete the bus transportation form, check the information verification form for accuracy, and make changes if needed. Please bring both forms to school at your earliest convenience on or before August 13, 2021. You may also fax your forms to 708-832-1381 or scan and email them to my administrative assistant Mrs. Trotter at jacksona@sd149.org.
