Principal's Message

Mrs. ZaRita Beal

We Believe…Excellence, Humanization, & Pride

Dear Creative Communications Academy Community,

The end of the school year is always a bittersweet time for me. That is certainly the case this year; the spring of 2020 is not one we will ever forget! I hope this letter finds your loved ones safe and healthy in this uncertain time. On behalf of the CCA]  staff, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for everything you have done at home to ensure that our students continue learning. I join with all CCA staff to say how much we miss the busy hallways, bells, noisy cafeteria, and mostly what brings meaning to our calling as educators- your children. Special thanks to our School Board and Superintendent, who went above and beyond the call of duty to provide whatever was necessary to add to our students’ already rich school experience.

A word to CCA students: Thank you for all your hard work throughout the school year. I am so honored to be your principal; you make me proud to be a part of the CCA family. You keep me laughing and young at heart. I am grateful for your joy, astute insights, and amazing talents. Best wishes to our 8th-grade graduates whom I will miss greatly—please come back and visit.

Parents, below are a few end of the year updates for you:

Lockers: contents of student lockers will be bagged, labeled, and available for pickup soon. Specific June dates and times will be shared at a later date. Students will not be allowed to enter the building.

4th Marking Period Grading: Remote learning will continue until June 2nd; teachers will continue to teach and assign work with the expectation that students will do their best to complete these assignments. Grades are recorded in Skyward, so students and parents can track progress during the 4th Marking Period. Grades will be mailed out within the next few weeks.

Summer Reading Program: Each student will be mailed home a Scholastic Summer Reading Book packet. Use the Activity Sheets provided in the packet as a way to talk with your child about what they are reading. Share any connections that you may to the stories, and ask your child questions about the books. Use the conversations that stem from these books as a window into your child’s world. Enjoy the experience of connecting with your child in a way that promotes learning, conversation, and family engagement.

I am so fortunate to be part of our Creative Communications Academy and our great community! Through all of our efforts, we overcame the many difficulties imposed by our current situation and continued to focus on our students. I am forever humbled and grateful for the sacrifices and efforts you have put forth, thank you! That experience could not occur without the endless energy, skills, and devotion of the CCA staff. Thanks and well done to an incredible group of professionals.

We look forward to next year and all that it will bring. Please check the Dolton School District website and Facebook page for future updates. Everyone have a safe and happy summer break.  Until next school year, here is wishing you love, laughter, and learning.

Educationally Yours,

Mrs. ZaRita Beal
