Principal's Message
Ms. BeNita Parker
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year.
Dear Parents/Guardians of CS Superstars,
I am incredibly excited to begin my fourth year as Principal of Caroline Sibley! It feels good to have our learners back in the building, energized and ready to learn. All signs point to another wonderful year at CS. We begin this journey with a pledge to our students and parents- this will be a year of engaging rigorous standards- based instruction in our classrooms. Balanced Literacy, Math Instructional practices and Social Emotional Learning activities to educate the whole child.
Our staff of highly qualified professional educators and support personnel are committed to building and refining our foundation of good work, honored traditions and continued excellence in education.
We look forward to a very positive and productive school year! We extend a special yearlong invitation to you, our CS families, to join us at school activities and events whenever possible. Research shows that the biggest and most important factor in student’s success in school is the involvement of the PARENT in daily school experiences. We urge you to attend all parent conferences and to constantly communicate with your child’s teacher and foster a positive relationship. Your active participation is vital to the success of your child.
Our district’s theme this year is “LEVEL UP”~ which means we are striving to advance to the next level in all aspects of education.
Together, we will work to build a productive partnership to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. So, as we begin to move forward, things will look differently, but the high quality, rigorous and engaging education we provide our students will LEVEL UP!
We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:
- Attends school daily and arrives on time {school begins at 9:00 a.m.} ready for the day’s learning experience.
- Completes all homework assignments given by the teachers.
- Reads daily to develop a love, joy & passion for Reading and to improve literacy skills.
- Shares school experiences with you, so that you are aware of his/her school life.
- Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject.
- Knows that you expect him/her to be successful.
- Maintain a positive rapport with the school community.
Within the first week of school, your student will bring home the CS expectations. Please review the documents together with your child. If you have, any questions feel free to contact your child’s teacher or me. It is very important that you and your child be fully informed regarding our standards related to appropriate behavior for a safe and productive school year.
At Caroline Sibley, we remain steadfast in our continued commitment to academic excellence, innovative practices, school safety, and inclusive excellence. We are proud of our achievements and grateful for our Superintendent and the Dolton149 School Board. We are committed to collaborating with all members of our school communities to ensure safe, healthy spaces that affirm the identity of each student, leveraging the assets they bring. We do this in service of safe, welcoming spaces for all students to learn in, for all staff to work in, and for all community members to visit.
Also, we are pleased to inform you that Dolton School District 149 will continue the implementation of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), an option available to schools to participating in the National School Lunch and Breakfast programs for the 2021-2022 school year. Schools that participate in CEP can provide healthy breakfasts and lunches each day at no charge for all students enrolled in that CEP school.
The wonderful CS staff and I feel privileged to have you as a part of our school family. Again, we welcome you to another fantastic year at CS, where we Embrace Opportunities… Unlock Potential and Inspire Excellence! To all our students, communities and families, we welcome you and thank you for your continued support.
Ms. BeNita Parker
The Proud Principal of CS
