Principal's Message

Dr. Nicole Robinson

August 2019

Dear S.T.E.M. Academy Families,

Welcome Back! We are incredibly excited to begin the 2019-2020 school year at STEM Academy! This promises to be a year filled with excellent opportunities for all of our students as we strive to find ways that we can be even better than we have before!  We embark on this journey with a pledge to you, our students and parents, that this will be a year of engaging, meaningful and rigorous work in our classrooms, combined with special events and extracurricular clubs and activities, to encourage our students to be involved and stay connected!

Our district’s theme is, Accountability! Our district will be focusing on the three P’s: Purpose, Practice and Performance.  It is my hope that our students will continue to achieve and grow by attempting new things and challenging themselves each and every day.

We all have much work to do to not only improve our current status but to ensure learning is happening for all of our S.T.E.M. students. Our goals consist of providing opportunities for students to increase academic performance, improving school climate and student engagement, and increasing community collaboration. We believe all our students deserve a quality education in which their individual needs are met, exceeded and supported.

We will continue our pathway in educating the whole child one step at a time. We will continue to build on the great work of our teachers and staff and look forward to including parents, families, and community partners in our efforts. We at S.T.E.M. Academy hold high expectations for all students and the state holds all schools to the same high standards.

We are pleased to inform you that Dolton School District 149 will continue the implementation of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), an option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs, for 2019-2020 school year. Schools that participate in CEP are able to provide healthy breakfasts and lunches each day at no charge for all students enrolled in that CEP school.

Once again, I am thankful to have the opportunity to serve as your principal. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas. I look forward to getting to know you and your children.

Warm Regards,
Dr. Nicole Robinson
