THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING OPEN HOUSE!

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Stakeholders,

On behalf of the Board of Education and the Dolton School District 149 Family, I want to personally thank you for carving out time in your busy schedule to attend Open House.  Your support and active involvement in our schools is greatly appreciated by the teachers and staff.  We truly enjoyed seeing you and having the opportunity to share the learning that goes on in the classrooms.  We hope it was informative as well as fun for everyone.

A special thank you to our students who served as junior leaders and greeters during our Open House Event.  Every student did an excellent job! This year we are more focused on empowering our students to elevate to the next level and share their many talents and skills. What a great way to demonstrate it by donating their time and participating as stewards of service!

At Open House computer labs were available to parents to participate in a brief survey to determine if you would be  interested in participating in our first Title I  Mini Parent Conference on Saturday, October 29th from 9 am until noon.  I am happy to report that we had a 72% response rate in favor of us hosting our first Title I Mini Parent Conference.  It is our goal to work more collaboratively and  provide you with professional development sessions that will further our work in “Educating the Whole Child.” Thank you to everyone who completed the survey in an effort to help us plan for this great event.

Based on the data from the 5 Essential Schools Survey that many of you participated in last school year, family engagement is an area that we want to improve upon. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. Your input and role as a collective partner is critical to helping us “Educate the Whole Child.” Please help us this school year to support your child’s educational journey.

We look forward to working with you and invite you to participate on board committees and support evening programs at your child’s school.

We Believe. . . Excellence, Humanization, and Pride!
