Dear Parents/Guardians:
Welcome to the 2007-2008
school year! Whether your child(ren) is returning or new to our school,
we are glad that you are part of our New Beginnings Learning Academy (NBLA)
community! The start of a new school year is always an exciting time for
everyone involved. As we begin this year, I want to encourage you to
stay involved with your child’s education by participating in activities
and staying aware of our school events.
The Administration and
Staff at NBLA takes pride in helping all of our students achieve to
their highest potential. We strive to make school a caring, nurturing
and safe place for learning. Academic emphasis on the core content
areas of Reading, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and Mathematics
will remain a high priority in every classroom. The lessons presented
will continue to be aligned with the State goals and benchmarks.
Additionally, students will continue to receive valuable experiences in
Fine Arts, Computers, and Physical Education throughout the week.
Have you noticed our new
bushes and trees? This start on our landscaping is a result of the
Science Grant that we received last school year. Thanks to our entire
student body and the work that was done in their Science projects, we
were able to select trees and bushes that were a good fit for our
climate and environment. I know that our students will be proud to see
the benefits of their hard work.
As parents, you have an
extremely important role in your child’s education. Parental involvement
makes a huge difference in your child’s success. Therefore, I encourage
you to establish a positive rapport and communication system with your
child’s teacher. Several school-wide events are scheduled which will
give you the opportunity to come into our school and be apart of your
child’s experiences. Be on the lookout for your invitation to our
monthly Parent Coffee Club meetings, which are usually scheduled for the
third Wednesday of every month beginning in October.
Again, welcome! If you
have any questions, feel free to contact me or the school office. I look
forward to working with you and your child throughout the school year to
provide a productive and safe learning environment that supports student
success.
Sincerely,
Carolyn Franklin
Principal
